Montpellier’s Oldest Haunt: La Réserve Rimbaud

la reserve rimbaud, montpellier, france, restaurant, the aviso, richard vorisek associatesLa Réserve Rimbaud is one of the oldest restaurants in Montpellier, recognized by locals as a pillar in area cuisine. Established nearly 200 years ago in 1835, Rimbaud started out as a “guinguette,” or public house, known as “L’Auberge du Père Louis”. It wasn’t until 1902 when the brothers Gousserand took over and transformed the space into the gastronomic hot spot we enjoy today.

Housed in its original structure, the restaurant lauds a wonderful terrace from which one can enjoy the surrounding greenery and views of the river Lez. Making excellent use of local farm products, the chefs here create some of the most interesting and delicious dishes around.

La Réserve Rimbaud is perfect for a gourmet break with family and friends, or business lunch away from the office, offering inspired, natural, and traditional French cuisine with a beautiful river view.
