Drift Lobby Bar, popular winner for Bar/Nightclub

Honoring the best in contemporary architecture and design, the aim of A+ is to bring exposure to fresh, innovative work while including the global public in the conversation. Contestants present their work online, where design enthusiasts around the world are invited to vote for their favorites during a highly publicized campaign.

A1Sugamo Shinkin Bank, popular winner for Retail Space

In its first iteration, the Awards limited its selection to structural work. This year they have expanded to include categories for product design. An exciting development indeed.

Louis Vuitton – Yayoi Kusama, jury winner for Pop-Up Store

Over 60 categories are represented in the program, including pop-ups, airports, boat piers, and residential interiors. Five finalists in each category will be named, from which one winner will emerge. Open call for entries officially begins today. In its first year, the Awards received over 1,500 entries from more than 100 countries, a number that is expected to double in 2014.
